Can ppmodeler import and export .mdl files from animation master?
also does your .x file format export with all model skins and bits and pieces intact? |

for animation master, the answer is no. animatrion master is only using patch modeling, and ppModeler polygon/subd modeling.
May be there is a way to import animation master file, If I can find the file format somewhere( ? )
for the x file, the export script is not finished yet.
currently (it is a script, so can be improved by anyone), it is exporting the mesh, the bones, the skin, the texture but no animation....

you can get it from hash www.hash.com but im not sure where yet ,
will get more info for you!
and maybe you can then import it and export it.(if not import will do, to save out to .x or .3ds) then i can convert these formats into 3d gamestudios file format .mdl using MED model editor and saving this format to place in to the game world. |

I want to be able to transfer all modeling efforts to a program called "3d Gamestudio" and be able to import these models i create into the wed editor for making game worlds. This 3d game making suite has a model editor , but it doesnt support A:M 's .mdl file format . nor does the wed editor .
the wed editor must have models in .mdl ( mdl7 exporter , md1 , md2 , md3 etc..) to work correctly these are based on quake etc....
the med editor can import .3ds. and .x and can be saved out to .mdl7 but im not sure when importing these formats all bits like skins etc are lost and need to be re-applied.
a:m can save out to .x but with only a plugin (that you have to buy) , the funny thing is i would like to see support for .mdl7(quake) and also a:m's own .mdl to be brought straight in and saved out with all things intact!
if you decide to do it your modeler will be the only one that can do it .
currently a:m
does the following:
export .mdl (its own), .x (plugin), .3ds (but with problems) and .obj
there might be other file formats like .ply which i have never played with support i saw it in the program when i first played with the other day.
any help would be great thanks

Are you sure that the mdl supported is the mdl of A:M ?
because the mdl file format used in games the one primary created for Quake, and then extented by HalfLife, Quake2...
And for what I read this morning in the link you provided, the two format have nothing in common, except the file extension of course
Do you have an example of mdl that can be imported in your application ?
