|
|
Hallo,
is it possible to make displacement mappings in PPmodeler.
I found the sculping function in the vertex mode.
This function goes in this direction, but itīs a kind of brush modelling
for low poly meshes.
Adding fine structures or even predefined form samples like in Zbrush
would be nice.
I am also searching for a displacement mapping function
that adopts additional surface structure to a
low poly mesh by texturing a height map - maybe possible ?
Are there or will there be any efforts or progressions in this direction ?
This would be great for donations.
Toni
PS: Let me say this. The funcitonality of PPmodeler is great;
The programm has more intelligent features than SILO or other 3D Modeler Programs in the lower price segment. PPModeler opens the door to
the 3D Modelling genre to many people, what 3DS MAX never will. |

There is also the paint tool , available in the texture projector toolbox.
But it is not yet possible to paint a bump map whith this tool.
The problem I have is not technical. I know how to do this, but in order to display a displacement/bump map in the view ports, OpenGL 2.0 is needed.
And my graphic card is too old and doesn't support OpenGL 2.0.
Nevertheless, I have some idea, maybe using the new internal raytracer.
I will give it a try in a near futur and keep your informed.
pierre
ps: thanks a lot for your ps. |
