Is there a way to add a small faces to a group of selected faces,
I try to add faces to a group selected faces but it add faces to each faces selected I want to add to a small face to a group of selected edges not each of then.

sorry for the post figure it out, what I do is extrude it but don't touch the length
then scale it.

There is no tool for that... the best way to do it, is to use the knife tool in the vertex toolbox.
Another quick way is to delete the selected faces, then use the fill hole commands (in the popup menu of the faces toolbox), then use the small face tool. Of course, the newly created face will be loose the volume defined by the deleted faces....
I can create a tool for that if you want...

There is a way to do this:
Select the edges that are making the outline of you faces, then use the "double" tool. drag the mouse to make the size smaller... and done!

It seems A3D have a hidden tool you just have to figure out what the tools can do.

Where's the "double tool" ? So I can inset a group of faces quickly.
I found a way to do this with the add small faces but it's tedious ...

it is called 'Bevel' now....
but the easiest way, is to select the faces, activate the "extrude" tool, and play with the scale only (either in the parameters, or shift dragging). |
