hi pierre,
how do you flip normals in ppmodeler?
i have successfully imported .3ds into ppmodeler from Animation master.
now all i need to do is try .obj file format and see if that works too , just have to get the plugin to work.
keep you posted. |

You can flip the normals by face in the face toolbox (select the faces you want, and then hit the flip tool button.
You can flip all the normals with the 'Edit->invert Faces' menu item ( in mesh selection mode). You can also use the 'Edit->Fix normals' menu item (mesh toolbox activated) which will put all the faces in a consistent way (but not necessarily in the way you want, so the invert faces may be necessary after).

ok obj has sucessfully been imported into ppmodeler, but it asked for some uv material an image to be add first before import was complete .
but i still have the normals problem and the hole at the base of the vase.
hmmm having trouble with following this basic modeling effort. But i will keep trying to fix these minor issues .....one step at a time ( i will re-read your info again to see if things workout) . |

Yes, if the obj mesh has uv, and no mtl file, or the texture file is not foudn, ppModeler ask for it.
for the bottom face, try fix normals....
If nothing work send me your obj file.
